Science Adventures

Science Adventures engages your child in exciting and educational hands-on science programs!  The weekly club format allows your child to participate in projects such as mixing their own sport drink, decoding secret messages, and building a working model of a muscle. At La Pluma Elementary School, Science Adventures meets on Wednesdays from 1:10 - 2:10 p.m. in Room 35, the La Pluma Science Lab.

Club features include:

  • A new make-and-take science project each week
  • Weekly one hour after school club meetings

Fantastic Physics

Wanted, scientists interested in finding out “how things work”.  Take a closer look at the mysteries of magnetism and secrets of cup stacking. Bowl your way through Newton ’s laws of motion and learn about levers as we catapult through Fantastic Physics.

Spy Tek

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to discover the science behind Gizmo’s top secret spy tools.  Gear up for adventure with a flashlight, a finger print kit, secret messages, and more.

Astro Adventures

Launch your imagination on a mission to the final frontier in an amazing space adventure!  Discover the worlds of our solar system and leap among the stars of the Milky Way to explore glowing constellations.  Join us as we investigate the stars in an exciting journey to the farthest reaches of our universe!

Get Fit  

On your marks! Get set! Go! From nutrition to your heart, take a tour of the human body and discover the science behind keeping fit.  Mix a sports drink, build a working model of a muscle and test your lung power as you discover how the body works from the inside out.

Slime Time

It’s time to get slimed!  Usually thought of as gross, the wonderful world of ooze reveals some amazing science.  Polymers, phosphorescence, and the scientific method are all explored as you find out that some of the best science can get a little messy!
